Culture and history
The Church of Saint Nicholas in Amfroipret was rebuilt between 1860 and 1862. It consists of brick masonry on a preserved sandstone base; its gabled façade is decorated with a motif in the style of Lombard bands.
A wayside cross on the D942 or at Chemin des Grandes Carrières dates from 1818. A former brewery and malt house building was converted into a rural holiday home around 1985. The former Carlier brewery and malt house, later Carlier Stordeur, is located at 60 rue du Petit Gommegnies in Amfroipret. A chapel in Amfroipret was demolished during the fighting between French and Austrian troops.
The historic site of Abbaye d'Hautmont is located in the vicinity of Amfroipret. Fort d'Haumont and Fort de Leveau are also located nearby.
