Saint-Simon: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Saint-Simon is located in the Parc naturel régional des Causses du Quercy, which has been designated a UNESCO Global Geopark since 2017. Three hiking trails managed by Grand Figeac pass through the village.

Saint-Simon is located about 20 kilometres from the A20 motorway, at exit 56.

Culture and history

The parish church of Saint-Sigismond belonged to Saint-Sauveur Abbey in Figeac. Its portal arch is dated 1752.

A 17th-century tower stands in the hamlet of Poutoy. Originally, it was a fortified castle with a brattice and a loophole.

The rock-shelter cave of Mas Viel was discovered in 1906. Numerous flint tools and bones from many animals were found there, including bison, deer and woolly rhinoceroses.

In Mas del Vit, the communal bread oven is considered an important element of Saint-Simon's local heritage.

Poterie Kéwin Moret in Mas Viel, Saint-Simon, welcomes visitors to its pottery workshop. Stoneware is processed there, primarily into everyday items.

Local life

Yui Yoshinari holds Japanese cooking workshops in Brandouly, Saint-Simon. Ferme des Prés produces three varieties of cow's-milk Tomme cheese.

Near Saint-Simon's new cemetery stands a book hut where people can take books or leave some.
