Hiking
The hiking trails in Cressensac-Sarrazac are included in the hiking trail plan for the Lot département. The Route du Camp du Maquis starts at the car park of Cressensac's multipurpose hall. It leads to a hideout used by Resistance fighters during the Second World War; a plaque commemorates two of the fighters.
Culture and History
The complete restoration of the parish church of Saint-Barthélemy began in 1874 under the direction of Abbé Chevalt. The ruins of Cressensac's former fortifications testify to the fact that Cressensac was a fortified village, captured by the English in 1357 before the fortifications were demolished.
The keep is all that remains of the Château de Chausseneige, built in the 12th century. Inside, the Fontaine-Lavoir de Chaumont has a stone vaulted ceiling. The road built by Sully later became the Nationale 20 and contributed significantly to the economic development of the town of Cressensac.
At Camp du Maquis, the ruins of a building that served as a refuge for a group of Maquisards in 1944 have been preserved; a stele commemorates them. In the hamlet of L'Hôpital Saint-Jean, demonstrations of walnut oil pressing take place at Moulin d'Antoine four to five times a year.
Today, the river resurfaces at the Å’il de la Doux.
