In Saint-Chamarand, several clearly dated testimonies to the village’s history can be found side by side. The main construction phases of the Château de Saint-Chamarand date from the 14th, 16th and 17th centuries. The fief of Saint-Amarand (Saint-Chamarand) also has a recorded ownership history: the Gourdon family owned it until 1311 and sold it to Raymond d’Auriol that year.

There are still five washhouses in the municipality, known in French as lavoirs. The church of Saint-Chamarand also dates back a long way: it was built in the 11th century and largely restored in the 17th century. Inside, there is a 17th-century painting and a Way of the Cross from the late 19th century.

The venue for the Del Tuc al Riu trail was scheduled to be Place du Château, 46310 Saint-Chamarand. The 8th edition of the Trail Del Tuc al Riu was announced there for 14 June 2026 as an event for people interested in nature, hiking and trail running.

Nature

The routes of the Trail Del Tuc al Riu announced for 2026 were to pass through forest paths, valleys, limestone formations and preserved panoramas in the Céou Valley.
