Le Roc is one of the 20 municipalities in the Vallée de la Dordogne quercynoise Natura 2000 site.

Water

From 15 June to 15 September, the Bac L'Espérance crosses the Dordogne between the Lot and the Périgord Noir. The Le Roc ferry can carry up to seven passengers and up to five bicycles.

The Bac Le Roc – Pechs de l’Espérance ferry provides access to Sarlat from Pechs de l’Espérance via the greenway.

From Souillac, you can reach the Le Roc ferry by bicycle via a route of approximately 6 km in about 25 minutes. From Souillac, access to the Le Roc ferry leads through the village of Le Roc towards Félines, followed by the Chemin de Lavadou to the pontoon on the Dordogne.

At Plage des Boulous in Le Roc, swimming in the ferry's navigation channel was prohibited from 20 June up to and including 15 September 2026, during navigation hours from 10:00 to 12:30 and from 13:30 to 18:00.

Culture

The traditional Fête votive au Roc votive festival will take place in Le Roc from 22 to 23 August 2026.

The present-day Saint-Roch Church in Le Roc was built in 1837. Exceptionally, it was open for free visits for two days.

In 1996, the municipal council decided to restore an old cross on the rocky cliff above the plain of Le Roc.
