Brengues: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Brengues is located in the Célé Valley and forms part of the Parc naturel régional des Causses du Quercy. Over millions of years, the Célé has cut its way through the limestone of the Causse, leaving cliffs above its winding course. At Brengues beach, grassy areas, pebbles and shaded spots come together.

Culture

The bell tower of the Church of Saint Saturnin in Brengues has unusually rounded corners and was probably built at the beginning of the Romanesque period. The church also contains several 18th-century gravestones.

The remains of the Château des Anglais are also among the historical landmarks. They were listed as a Monument historique by decree of 30 October 1925.

Local life

During the summer season, a farmers’ market is held on Thursdays from 5 to 8 p.m. on the edge of the municipal campsite in Brengues. Local food, handicrafts and small-scale food outlets are represented there.

Getting around

The long-distance hiking trail GR651 runs between the hamlet of Causse and the village of Brengues. Access to the Sentier des Anglais circular trail has been impossible since 10 February 2026 due to landslides and other impending hazards, and will remain so indefinitely.

The affected section of the GR651 between the hamlet of Causse and the centre of Brengues is also closed indefinitely due to a landslide and a considerable risk of falling rocks. A diversion via the RD 38 is signposted.

The bathing area on the Célé in Brengues is accessible year-round but is not supervised.
