Culture and History

The historic buildings of Vic-Fezensac include the Église Saint-Pierre. It was rebuilt on the same site around 1190 and subsequently altered several times, particularly in the 15th century. The Tour Saint-Jacques, also known as the Tour du Barry, is the only surviving remnant of the Hôpital Saint-Jacques and contains a stone spiral staircase dating from the mid-15th century. The Chapelle des Cordeliers incorporates preserved parts of a building erected in 1383: the bell tower, the foundations of the church, several sections of wall and the pointed-arch portal.

Events

The Arènes Joseph Fourniol were inaugurated on 20 September 1931. The arenas in Vic-Fezensac are a preferred venue for various events, including corridas, Courses landaises, concerts and festivals. As part of Pentecotavic, at least six corridas take place there from Saturday to Monday.

Since 1994, the Tempo Latino Festival has pursued and reaffirmed its artistic concept, focusing on Afro-Cuban and Latin American music. As part of the Circuit des Arts of Pentecotavic, works by artists are presented in bodegas, cafés and specially designated spaces.
