At 1,128 metres, Lacalm is the highest village in the Aveyron département and lies at the gateway to the Aubrac highlands.

Culture
The Sainte-Foi Church is partly Romanesque, with sections dating back to the 12th century. It has a barrel vault and carved capitals depicting foliage, angels with scrolls and warriors.

At the exit of Lacalm stands a statue by the sculptor Eugène-René Arsal honouring Clairon Rolland.
Clairon Rolland's bugle and decorations can be seen in Lacalm Town Hall; his grave is located in the cemetery.
Nature
The Sentier du « Petit Saint-Cloud » is approximately 3.5 kilometres long and takes about 1.5 hours as a family hike.
