Siguer: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The GR10 passes through Siguer. Siguer is located in the Parc Naturel Régional des Pyrénées Ariégeoises. Those who choose Siguer as a holiday destination may wish to rent a holiday apartment.

Geographical Location

Siguer borders the Andorran parish of Ordino. At 2,903 metres, Pic du Port is the highest point in the municipality of Siguer; in Andorra, it is called Pic de Font Blanca.

Hiking

The GR10 connects Siguer with the villages of Gesties and Lercoul. In Bouychet, the endpoint of the D224 departmental road, hiking trails are designated for excursions in the middle and high mountains. Several municipal mountain huts in Siguer offer open shelters for hikers.

The route to the Barrage de Gnioure is a 9 km round trip. It is classified as difficult and dangerous in snowy conditions. The longer round trip from the Barrage de Gnioure to the Refuge du Fourcat is 15 km long.

The hike to the Barrage de Gnioure follows the tracks of the workers who walked to the dam construction site between 1938 and 1948. The route to Étang Blaou and Port de Siguer begins in Bouychet and initially follows the same path as the route to Étang de Peyregrand. The Abri de Peyregrand can accommodate five to six people. For GR10 hikers, an on-demand transport service is available in connection with Tarascon-sur-Ariège, Siguer and Mérens-les-Vals.

Culture

La Maison des Consuls is over 400 years old and historically served as a prison, magistrates’ court and town hall. La Maison des Consuls currently has three exhibition rooms.

Nature

Fishing is possible in the streams and mountain lakes of the municipality of Siguer; however, the lakes of Neych and the Redouneilles des vaches et des brebis are reserved for authorised persons.
