Culture
The war memorial in Aleu is dedicated to the children of the municipality who fell in the First World War from 1914 to 1918 and was inaugurated in April 1920. In 1991, it was moved from the municipal cemetery to the forecourt of the parish church of Saint-Julien. The old plaques from the war memorial have been kept and mounted on the western interior wall of the parish church since 1991.
Aleu has a second church, Saint-Sabin, in the hamlet of Castet-d'Aleu. The church contains two marble memorial plaques, two wooden plaques, a painting and a statue of Joan of Arc. The painting “La Sainte Famille dans l'atelier du charpentier saint Joseph” was registered as a protected object on 9 March 2020.
Hiking and Landscape
Le panorama de Joubac is a signposted circular hike lasting 3 hours and 30 minutes, covering 6.7 km and involving 350 metres of ascent and descent. The route follows paths formerly used by bear guides through authentic hamlets and forests. From Aleu and the summit of Taus, Le panorama de Joubac offers views of the Valier mountains.
Surroundings
The Tuc de la Courate summit is located in the immediate vicinity of Aleu. The Pic de Calamane, Pech d'Arbiel and Cap d'Escouadès summits are also located around Aleu. The Abbaye de Combelongue church is likewise situated in the vicinity of Aleu.
In the wider regional surroundings of Aleu is the Château de Foix. The ruins of Abbaye des Salenques are also located there. The Église Saint-Étienne de Mas-d'Azil church is likewise situated in the wider regional surroundings.

The ALEU – Castet d'Aleu Place stop is served by the AULUS – MASSAT – ST GIRONS – SAINT LIZIER lines.
