The Château Mme de Graffigny was associated with Françoise D’Apponcourt, the author of Lettres d’une Péruvienne; she also regularly corresponded with Voltaire and Diderot.

The Église Saint-Fiacre had been a pilgrimage site since the Middle Ages and later became a parish church. The present building was destroyed in 1872, rebuilt on the same site in the Neo-Romanesque style and inaugurated in 1888. Located in the Parc du Placieux, this church with a nave without interior pillars features interior and exterior designs inspired by the motif of the rose.

In the immediate vicinity of Villers-lès-Nancy is the Palais Ducal, a palace; the ruins of the Abbaye de Clairlieu are also nearby. The surrounding area also includes the Cité d’Affrique, an archaeological site, and the Domaine de l’Automobile Lorraine, a museum.

Landscape and Nature

Part of Villers-lès-Nancy lies on the edge of the Massif de Haye, on a limestone plateau. The Espace Naturel Sensible des pelouses sèches de Villers is located there, featuring oligotrophic species as well as rare or unusual plants, including hare’s-foot clover and the man orchid, known as the “man-bearer”.

The Parc de Brabois offers panoramic views over the Nancy metropolitan area. The park covers 55 hectares and features avenues lined with beech and oak trees, wild meadows, orchards and extensive clearings. Walking, cycling or horseback riding are possible in the Parc de Brabois.

At the Jardin botanique Jean-Marie Pelt, almost 12,000 species can be discovered in a 25-hectare garden and 2,500 m² of tropical greenhouses. The botanical garden also preserves a collection of carnivorous plants, now comprising more than 650 species.

The Parc de Remicourt is a 7.5-hectare English landscape garden with various areas and landforms that invite visitors to take walks. Numerous birds live there, including the great spotted woodpecker; there are also ornamental trees such as a century-old Atlas cedar and a giant sequoia.

Paths and Underground Spaces

The “Brabois par les coteaux” hiking route is 9 km long, takes around 2 hours and 45 minutes, and starts in Villers-lès-Nancy.

The Spéléodrome de Villers has galleries stretching for more than 6 km and is now open for visits by prior reservation.
