Liverdun: Holiday Apartments and Houses

The medieval town of Liverdun overlooks the Moselle Valley. From the park of Château Corbin, you can admire the loops of the Moselle. Liverdun was the summer residence of the bishops of Toul.

Paths and Routes

The “Au cœur des Boucles” network comprises 12 signposted hiking trails in Liverdun, with a total length of 80 kilometres. The pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela also passes through the municipality. The long-distance hiking trail GR5 also runs through the municipality, extending from the North Sea to the Mediterranean.

The Boucle de la Moselle® is an 85-kilometre cycle path as well as an 85-kilometre tourist route. It connects Liverdun, Nancy and Toul and can be explored on the water, by bicycle and on foot.

Architectural Heritage and History

The Porte Haute is a former gate of the 12th-century fortifications. Among other features, the guides for the portcullis and the grooves of the former drawbridge have been preserved. To the west, the Porte Haute is flanked by a rectangular watchtower, and to the east by a round tower known as the Gabion.

The Church of Saint Peter has Romanesque origins and was built from 1184 onwards by Pierre de Brixey, Bishop of Toul, to house the relics of Saint Euchaire.

Culture and Tradition

Château Corbin has been transformed into a cultural venue with a media library and event hall.

The Madeleine de Liverdun originated in the 1920s. The traditional recipe has remained unchanged ever since and is kept secret.
