Culture
The Saint-Marcel church was first mentioned in 1177 and is a single-nave Romanesque building. It has a square Lombard-style bell tower dating from the 16th century, which was restored in 1895, is approximately 30 metres high and houses 11 different bells.
The Saint-Marcel church preserves several crucifixes and numerous Baroque statues from the 17th and 18th centuries. The Saint-Sébastien Chapel houses a statue of the saint pierced by arrows; two bull’s-eye windows provide coloured light there. It was first mentioned in 1556 and is characterised by its distinctive red-brick masonry.
The Saint-Marcel church can be visited or used for prayer on Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The Saint-Sébastien Chapel is open daily.
The Portalet, an archway next to the church, provides access to the Place de la République and was formerly one of the gates of the historic Cellera.

Padel and tennis courts are located in the Aire de sport et de Loisirs behind the Parcours de Santé; the courts are available by reservation. The municipal skate park is also located near the Parcours de Santé.

Landscape
A watercourse forms the southern boundary of Villelongue-de-la-Salanque. To the north, the Agouille de l’Auca, a former course of the Têt, forms the boundary.
