Nohèdes: Holiday Apartments and Houses
The Nohèdes National Nature Reserve was established in 1986 because of the exceptional biodiversity developing there. Today, its floristic inventory comprises nearly 900 taxa. The municipality of Nohèdes has a floristically documented inventory of nearly 1,200 taxa.
Hiking
Several routes differ significantly in difficulty, duration, and elevation gain. The L’Estany del Clot route is a moderately difficult hike of more than five hours with 700 metres of elevation gain and is listed for the period from April to November. Le Roc Negre is a difficult ten-hour hike with 1,490 metres of elevation gain and is listed for the period from June to October. La Goutte d’eau, by contrast, is an easy route of one and a half hours with 150 metres of elevation gain and is listed as available year-round.
The Nohèdes–Gorg Estelat hike is a difficult 13.4-kilometre circular route starting in Nohèdes. The path to Gorg Estelat offers views of mountain lakes and provides impressions of the nature reserve’s biodiversity, pastoral activities, and Pyrenean landscape. In the immediate vicinity of Nohèdes, paths lead on foot to Urbanya and to the hamlet of Betllans in the municipality of Conat.
Culture
The Church of Saint-Martin is a classical Romanesque church with a single nave and a semicircular apse. Its entrance is marked by a double triumphal arch. In Nohèdes, bread ovens can also still be seen on some houses, projecting outward from the buildings.
Practical information
Beyond Montilla, access by motor vehicle to the Nohèdes National Nature Reserve is prohibited. Visitors are advised to use the designated car parks in Montilla or at the entrance to Nohèdes; parking is not permitted outside these two car parks.
