Village Character
The village of Urbanya has a distinctly mountainous character; the houses are covered with slate slabs. It features slate architecture and lies along two narrow settlement strips that border the river.
Culture and History
The parish church of Saint-Étienne in Urbanya is a building of Romanesque origin and was first mentioned in the 13th century. Its single-nave structure ends in a semicircular apse facing east; a chapel was added on the southern side at a later date. At the Romanesque Church of Saint-Étienne in Urbanya, the masonry made of hewn stones is still visible at the apse.
At the entrance to Urbanya, the remains of an old military installation made of small-format rubble masonry can be found on the rocky escarpment of La Roca llise.

Paths lead from Nohèdes to Urbanya on foot. The connection between Urbanya and neighbouring Nohèdes runs via the Col de Marsac.
