Lanuéjols is located on the Causse Noir, a small limestone plateau. Below the plateau flow the Jonte, Tarn, Trévezel and Dourbie rivers.

Nature
The Sentier de la Croix du Devois runs through woodland areas where hikers can observe red deer and great spotted woodpeckers. The Forêt des Commandeurs is also part of the landscape: in this area, it is considered the most important winter refuge for the sensitive red deer population.
The Arboretum de La Foux covers approximately 10 hectares and is home to tree species from all over the world, including firs, giant sequoias, cedars and huge Douglas firs. It also includes a 1.2 km-long, freely accessible educational trail.
Trails and Activities
The Sentier de Pradines is an 8 km-long, family-friendly walking trail from Lanuéjols to the restored hamlet of Pradines. The hike to La Croix des Trois Evêques is very easy and suitable for families.
The Sentier du Renard begins and ends in Lanuéjols and is marked in yellow. It passes through the contrasting landscapes of the Causse and Aigoual, including gorges lined with Scots pines and deep forests.
At its ranch in Lanuéjols, Randals Bison offers rides in a tractor-drawn wagon that lead into the breeding herd area. In July and August, Randals Bison also offers ranch tours on horseback and demonstrations of cattle sorting.
Culture and History
The Church of Saint-Laurent in Lanuéjols was completed in 1857 and renovated in 2007. Menhirs and dolmens are considered heritage attractions in Lanuéjols. La Croix des Trois Evêques was erected around 1790 on the occasion of the meeting of the bishops of Gard, Lozère and Aveyron at the borders of the three departments.
