The circular village of Bram is considered the largest and best-preserved circular village in Europe. Its concentric streets bear witness to several centuries of history. Anyone wishing to rent a holiday apartment in Bram can take this preference into account when planning their trip.
Culture
At the centre of the concentrically laid-out settlement stands the church, which has been documented since the early 13th century. In 1211, it was given to the Abbey of Prouilhe. Its pentagonal apse and square bell tower are dated to the end of the 13th century and are classified as Monuments historiques.
At the former site of the refugee camp at the Rond-point de la Retirada, a work of art and a memorial have been erected in remembrance. Bram regularly organises exhibitions and events there about the history of the period commemorated at this site.
The Halles Claude Nougaro are an octagonal example of the Art Nouveau style that was widespread in 1907.
Nature
The Canal du Midi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996, runs through the landscape around Bram with its green waterways lined by plane trees.
The Parc des Essars is a wooded area of more than two hectares in the heart of Bram and is open year-round as a public walking area. Les Essar[t]s, an exhibition centre for visual arts and culture since 2014, is located in the park's former manor house.
Water and Leisure
Located north of the town, Lac de Buzerens can be reached via Rue des Fleurs or the north-eastern bypass and serves as a leisure and water sports centre. The Téléski Nautique de Bram on the lake offers wakeboarding, stand-up paddleboarding and water skiing.
Since summer 2019, there has been a supervised bathing area at Lac de Buzerens around a pontoon installed by the municipality. It is open daily from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in July and August.
At the Port Fluvial de Bram, Locaboat Holidays rents out boats for a week or a weekend.
Paths
A combined cycle and pedestrian path connects the Port Fluvial de Bram with the town centre and facilitates access to the historic centre.
