Mareil-sur-Mauldre: Holiday Apartments and Houses

Culture and History

The Pont sur la Mauldre has been listed as a historic monument since July 23, 1937, and has two arches. Construction work on the bridge lasted from April to December 1778.

Inside the Église Saint-Martin are a 15th-century Pietà and 17th-century wall frescoes. The parish church of Église Saint-Martin in Mareil-sur-Mauldre is also listed in the supplementary inventory of historic monuments.

Near the Vallée Renault, a washhouse was completed in late summer 1876. It has two large basins with total dimensions of 7.6 m × 4.0 m × 0.6 m. A second public washhouse was built in 1885 in the town center at the beginning of Rue des Fontaines. The washhouse on Rue des Fontaines is still well preserved after several renovations.

Nature

Near Mareil-sur-Mauldre, the Mauldre becomes wider and deeper after receiving the Ru de Gally and the smaller Petit Ru de Riche. As far as Épône, the Mauldre forms meanders and flows into the Seine there.

Paths

At Mareil-sur-Mauldre station, Transilien trains on Line N depart toward Paris-Montparnasse and Mantes-la-Jolie. The “Autour de Mareil-sur-Mauldre” walking loop initially follows the railway line and then the Ru de Gally as far as the Maladrerie.

The walk from Mareil-sur-Mauldre to Épône connects the two railway stations and follows the Mauldre through the countryside.
