Culture

The Église Saint-Georges features major construction phases from the 13th and 16th centuries. It was listed as a historic monument by decree on 16 July 1925.

The historic RATP vehicle collection is preserved and maintained in a former railway marshalling yard in Villeneuve-Saint-Georges. It comprises nearly 100 models from the metro, bus, train and tram sectors. The vehicles preserved document almost a century of technological, industrial and aesthetic changes.

Since 5 February 2020, the Micro-Folie has been permanently housed in the Salle Falbert at 14 bis rue Pasteur and is free to access. Nature

The Parc de la Chevrette includes planted vineyards and areas with fruit trees. The Parc de Beauregard became a public place around 1896. As early as around 1820, the landscape designer Vergniaud had transformed the former château garden and the Beauregard estate into a Romantic-style park. Since 31 July 1945, the Parc de Beauregard has been listed as a protected site.

Since the end of 2023, the Parc sauvage has been home to Villeneuve-Saint-Georges' first LPO bird sanctuary; the last count recorded around 20 different bird species there. The Arc Boisé begins behind the Fontaine Saint-Martin in Villeneuve-Saint-Georges.

Activities

From March to November, the Arc Boisé offers wildlife observation, hikes, twilight outings and photography workshops. The area extends across three départements and several municipalities, covers more than 3,000 hectares and is accessible to pedestrians and cyclists.

The redevelopment of the banks of the Seine, completed between 2013 and the end of 2015, created a footpath, cycle paths and recreational areas with benches and picnic tables over more than two kilometres between the Piste des Marronniers and the SNCF bridge in Choisy-le-Roi. Villeneuve-Saint-Georges is the last municipality in the Val-de-Marne département on the EuroVelo 3 cycle route. On the Seine in Villeneuve-Saint-Georges, Barefoot Style offers water skiing and wakeboarding.
