Châtenay-Malabry: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Cité-jardin de la Butte-Rouge in Châtenay-Malabry is classified as a “site patrimonial remarquable”. It has historical, architectural, archaeological, artistic and landscape value and is therefore considered to be of public interest. Because of its urban-planning, landscape and architectural qualities, it was awarded the “Patrimoine du XXe siècle” label in 2008.

Culture

The Maison de Chateaubriand bears the “Maison des Illustres” label and conveys a romantic cultural setting through the life and work of François René de Chateaubriand. It offers a cultural programme with exhibitions throughout the year.

The Église Saint-Germain l’Auxerrois was built in the 10th century and acquired its final form in 1504 after five centuries of construction and development. It is listed in the register of historic monuments.

Nature

The Arboretum de la Vallée-aux-Loups includes themed gardens for climbing plants, fruit, chestnuts, flowers, alders and autumn colours, as well as an English garden. The arboretum covers 12.7 hectares and is home to more than 500 species of trees and shrubs. Admission is free, and it is listed in the register of scenic sites.

Paths and Horticulture

Since October 2024, the Chemin sylvestre has been an almost 2 km-long woodland promenade between the Route de Saint-Leu and the Square Paul Vaillant Couturier, reserved for pedestrians and cyclists. Along the route, there are play, rest and educational areas for discovering the local flora and fauna.

Practical horticulture courses are held regularly on the Île Verte.
