Culture and history
The Church of Saint Thomas Becket is fully protected as a French historic monument; it was classified by a decree dated 6 May 2015. It originated from a chapel built by Thomas de Boissy.
Today, only the residential building, two pavilions and the gateway of the Ferme des Tourelles remain. The Ferme des Tourelles is a surviving remnant of the Fief d’Artois. The municipal washhouse is considered evidence of industrialisation and social change in the 19th century.
Getting around
The Sentier du Patrimoine offers a 6 km walk through the village area of Boissy-sous-Saint-Yon, along streets and past notable sites. The route is equipped with 14 educational information panels.
The Sentier du Patrimoine includes two treasure hunts in brochure form, which can be collected from the town hall or downloaded. One stop at the pond focuses on the local flora and fauna.
Nature and everyday life
The tributary La Vidange runs through the municipality of Boissy-sous-Saint-Yon. The Maison des Animaux helps make the Parc de l’Ormeteau an ecologically committed place for recreation, exchange, encounters and community initiatives.
The Ferme Bio des Tourelles in Boissy-sous-Saint-Yon sells seasonal organic fruit and vegetables directly from the farm.
