To the north of the municipality lies the Parc du château. The grounds cover 94 hectares and are classified as an “Espace Naturel Sensible”. Two walking routes are signposted there; the park can also be explored via numerous other paths.

The Château de Bruyères is not open to visitors, but it can be admired while walking through the 94-hectare estate.

History

The Église Saint-Didier was first mentioned in 1070 and has been classified as a historic monument since 1931.

The Moulin de Trémerolles was built in the 19th century. Its complex includes a farm building with walls made of millstone. The history of the mill also includes a grain mill, a wool-spinning mill and an arms factory dating from 1864.

Another historical landmark is La Pierre de Beaumirault: the stone is a Neolithic menhir listed as a historic monument. It is 1.90 metres high and 2 metres wide and is associated with a Gargantua legend.

Culture

La Lisière is located in the Parc du château de Bruyères-le-Châtel. The venue is designed for artistic street-art projects as well as art in and for public spaces. La Lisière also organises gatherings that are open to everyone interested, including curious visitors.

The festival Sèment et s’aimeront takes place in the Parc du Château and addresses ecological, environmental and ethical issues. The festival De jour // de nuit presents theatre, dance and circus performances outdoors, including in Bruyères-le-Châtel.

Every year, Bruyères-le-Châtel offers a cultural season featuring theatre, dance, music, comedy, concerts and exhibitions.
