The Sentier du souvenir is a 12.3-kilometre-long, difficult hiking trail in Auxelles-Haut. One hike leads to the 1,148-metre-high summit of Planche des Belles Filles, the highest point on the tour.

Lande du Mont Ménard is located within the municipality of Auxelles-Haut and offers an exceptional viewpoint. Its heathland and acidophilic grassland habitats are among the very rare habitats in Franche-Comté. The Ballons Comtois Natura 2000 site also includes Auxelles-Haut.

Refuge du Querty is accessible exclusively on foot. It can be rented and has neither running water nor electricity.

Culture and History

The mining heritage of Auxelles-Haut includes former mine entrances on Rue de la Stolle, Rue de la Suisse and Rue des Bruyères. The St Jean mine, whose deposit extended from Auxelles-Bas to Mont Ménard, was the most profitable and the longest-operated mine.

The Centre culturel d’Auxelles-Haut hosts exhibitions, film screenings and hikes, and publishes booklets on local history.

Every year, the Jeunesse Quichelotte association organises the Saint Nicholas celebration for children. At the Auxelles-Haut Christmas market, it serves visitors traditional Totchés.
