Culture
The Church of Saint Gregory was extensively remodelled in the 1840s; side aisles were added to the original single-nave structure. Today, it consists of a façade tower with a portal, a three-nave structure, a choir and a sacristy.
The saltworks of Montmorot are also part of the history of the town: they operated from 1744 to 1966. The original saltworks had six pans in which salt water was heated to extract salt. Pont des six ponts refers to the site of a gallery for salt grading.
Landscape
The hill rises nearly 100 metres above the La Vallière valley.

Montmorot has a signposted cultural walk entitled “Balade du Patrimoine de MONTMOROT”. For an insight into agricultural activities, Les Forestibles offers seasonal fruit for self-picking. Visits are also available by prior registration, allowing visitors to discover the farm.
The Cyclomontagnarde du Jura is a major mountain cycling tour on roads, awarded the FFVélo distinction, which starts at Juraparc in Montmorot–Lons-le-Saunier.
