Culture and History
The Saint-Martin Church dates back to the 16th century and is dedicated to Saint Martin. It houses one of the finest Baroque altarpieces in Haute-Saône, which is listed as a historic monument. The church is also included in the Route des retables de la Haute-Saône.
The Château de Pusy is an 18th-century building commissioned by Count Jean-Xavier Bureaux de Pusy (1750–1806) and entered in the inventory of historic monuments. The protected area includes the entrance portal with its gate, the façades and roofs of the outbuildings and main building, as well as, in the main building, the basement level, the staircase up to the first floor, the round salon with its furnishings on the raised ground floor and the east corner room with its furnishings on the raised ground floor. The listing was made by decree dated 8 April 1991.
The Château d’Épenoux is also part of the village’s historic heritage. It is an ensemble built in the 18th century comprising a château, chapel, orangery, manor house and kennel, surrounded by a six-hectare park.
Nature and Landscape
The château park was redesigned as a French garden with a pond. At the Espace Nature Découverte, the facilities include an arboretum and a conservation garden with more than 50 protected fruit trees. The same natural area also includes a pond for observing aquatic wildlife.
The Espace Nature Découverte is accessible year-round and offers benches and picnic areas.
The local offering also includes horse-related activities: Haras du Val des Charmes is a riding school with a qualified riding instructor on site who offers private lessons. Equitherapy is offered at Hameau du Val des Charmes, using the horse as a therapeutic intermediary. In addition, Haras du Val des Charmes offers horseback rides to discover Haute-Saône on horseback.
