Aillevans: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Dolmen d’Aillevans is a preserved archaeological excavation site that is freely accessible to the public beneath a chalet. Information boards explain the archaeological remains.

Culture and history

The grain mill of Aillevans has been documented since 1576 and was completely rebuilt in 1743–1744. Around 1930, it was converted into a grain mill, equipped with roller machines, and supplemented with a reinforced-concrete silo in 1933.

The church of Aillevans was rebuilt in 1737 and restored in 1845; it contains remarkable furnishings from the 18th and 19th centuries. The Comtois bell tower can be seen from the old cemetery overlooking the village. It features a small lantern turret and glazed roof tiles in a traditional pattern. Opposite the church stand two houses dating from the 16th century, including one with a tower.

The historic sites Abbaye Saint-Desle de Lure and Abbaye de Bithaine are located in the vicinity of Aillevans. In the wider regional area around Aillevans are the historic site Abbaye de Lieu-Croissant and the Luxeuil-les-Bains monastery.

Landscape and trails

The hill of Mont Jarroz is located in the vicinity of Aillevans. Aillevans lies on the D486 between Villersexel and Lure.

The Monts hiking trail passes through Oricourt, known for its medieval castle, and offers viewpoints.
