Culture

Several buildings bear witness to the history of the village. The Chapelle Saint-Joseph was built in 1611 by Simon dit la Lime and rebuilt in 1824. The Chapelle Notre-Dame-des-Ermites in Cornabey was built between 1690 and 1700 for Pierre Bobillier-Chaumont and his wife Jeanne Balanche, Catholic refugees from Val de Travers in Switzerland.

The Ferme-Musée of Grand'Combe-Châteleu presents Julot Jacquemot and his 18th-century farm. During the visit, visitors can also discover the forge workshop of the Girard family, built in the 17th century. The visit explains the importance of the three interconnected trades of farrier, wheelwright and blacksmith. The Ferme-Musée also explains the former way of life of farming families and the construction methods adapted to the house's climatic requirements.

Visits and Events

The Ferme-Musée is open year-round to groups of more than 10 people. The visit lasts approximately 1.5 hours; booking by email or telephone is recommended.

A cultural season is offered in Grand'Combe-Châteleu every year from April to September. The cultural programme also includes a festival of traditional crafts.
