History

The hamlet of Cruica was built in the mid-19th century by two brothers for their family. Cruica was too remote, was never connected to electricity and was gradually abandoned. The hamlet can be reached by off-road vehicle or on foot.

Lopigna was abandoned in 1489 as a result of the repression led by Ambroggio de Negro for the Office of Saint-Georges and was subsequently gradually resettled. Lopigna is considered the birthplace of the bandit Spada, who was nicknamed the “Tiger of Cinarca”.
