Bethon: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Bethon combines culture, wine and landscapes. The Église Saint-Serein features construction phases from the 15th, 16th and 18th centuries. It has the form of a basilica and was built in the flamboyant Gothic style. By decree of 24 October 1927, it was listed as a historic monument. Its figurative stained-glass windows from the late 19th century tell, among other things, the story of the shepherd Serein, who was devout and later venerated as a saint. A fountain north of the church commemorates his first miracle.

Culture and History

The pressoir Jeannolle is also part of the village’s history as a historic wine press. The Jeannolle family installed it in 1903; it was the first press in the municipality of Bethon to be used communally. The pressoir Jeannolle operated continuously as a communal facility until 1973. It is one of the few well-preserved square presses still remaining in Champagne, with a capacity of 4,000 kg.
