Above Cuisles rises the Art’Aire des Varociens. It serves as a place to admire the landscape and discover the village’s cultural and historical heritage. It includes a 120-metre-long experience trail with five life-size works of art. The works address the history of Cuisles, the Resistance, Mother Nature, biodiversity, and the community’s relationship with winegrowing.
The Art’Aire des Varociens is located approximately 750 metres from the village square and offers views of fields, vineyards, and woodland. Anyone who adds Cuisles with its Art’Aire, vineyards, and circular trails to their personal travel list may want to rent a holiday apartment.
Winegrowing
Champagne André Heucq is located in Cuisles in the heart of the Meunier terroir and manages its estate using biodynamic methods. Champagne Heucq Père & Fils also offers insights into winegrowing: tours include the vineyards and the facilities with the press, fermentation cellar, storage, as well as areas for disgorging and labelling.
Visits and Tastings
Champagne Laurence Deplaine offers tastings in its reception room. On request and in suitable weather conditions, a tasting can be complemented by a walk through the vineyards. During this walk, the grape varieties grown can be presented and identified. Visits to Champagne Laurence Deplaine require a reservation at least 48 hours in advance.
Champagne Emilien Fresne welcomes visitors for a tour of its vineyards. The estate also welcomes visitors for a tasting of its Champagnes. Champagne J.Lécurieux invites interested parties to contact the producer to arrange a visit to the estate.
Nature and Trails
The easy circular hike “Boucle Jonquery–Cuisles” runs through Cuisles and passes along a section of the Art des Varociens. It offers a viewpoint over the valley as well as the opportunity to discover the history of the village of Cuisles.
