At the Tufière de Fontaine Légère, lime deposits accumulate on mosses. This creates a series of small successive dams and a small natural staircase.
Culture and History
The Lavoir de Saint-Ciergues was built in 1837 by Claude Prodhon, the mayor, and Pierre Caubert, a member of the municipal council.
Together with Fort de la Bonnelle, Fort de la Pointe de Diamant took part in the defence of the western plateau of Langres. In conjunction with Fort de Saint-Menge, it controlled the Marne Valley and the road to Chaumont. The fort covers 13 hectares and could accommodate 350 men.
The Eglise Saint-Cyr-Sainte-Julitte de Saint-Ciergues contains a 16th-century fresco depicting the Last Supper. The church has a projecting 13th-century portal and a flamboyant-style double transept.
