The oldest parts of the Église Saint-Louvent, the choir and transept, were built at the beginning of the 16th century in the Flamboyant Gothic style. The nave was built later, between 1606 and 1627, in the Neoclassical style. This building therefore offers a direct view of two clearly distinct periods within a single religious structure.

The Maison de maître de forge de Doulevant-le-Château was built before 1825 for the local Berthelin master-forger family. The plans of Parisian architect Alexandre Dufour served as the basis for its design. The building is sometimes referred to as “le château” and hosted King Charles X and the Duchess of Angoulême in 1825.

The Lavoir de Doulevant-le-Château is also a vivid part of the rural heritage. It has been restored and maintained, offering visitors an insight into earlier traditions. A longer circuit is Le Saint-Louvent – PR No. 84, at 11.5 kilometres. This circular walk starts and ends in Doulevant-le-Château.
