Northeast of the village of Clémency, the Matton stream valley is part of Les vallons boisés de Matton et de Banel. This area in Matton-et-Clémency is classified as a type 1 continental ZNIEFF. The flood-prone valley floors of Les vallons boisés de Matton et de Banel are home to alder-ash forests with tall herb vegetation, as well as other wetland plants.

The Matton et Clémency Arboretum is located in a one-hectare park created on the site of a former landfill. It contains around 150 species and is open from April to October with free admission. The arboretum includes a pond, a footbridge, a pergola, a kiosk and a waterwheel, all created by local volunteers.

Culture

The parish church of Matton-et-Clémency was built in 1869 in the Romanesque style. The Romanesque church in Matton-et-Clémency overlooks the village.

Hiking

The “Matton et Clémency” hiking route is 9.64 kilometres long and takes around three hours. It follows a forest path through coppice, high forest, and deciduous and coniferous woodland. On the way back, the hiking route passes through farmland and meadows towards Matton and ends on a road that winds through meadows.
