History

The Forge Gendarme complex was completed in 1825 and included workers’ accommodation known as “la Caserne”. It was built around three ponds; two of them have been preserved and are fed by the Vrigne and the Claire. The Jardinier-Hivert factory was founded by Émile Hivert around 1848 and specialised in nail production.

Culture

The painting “Calvaire” is located in the Church of Saint-Charles in Bosseval, Vrigne-aux-Bois, and has been listed as a protected object since 5 March 1973.

The Church of the Immaculate Conception was built after the previous church was destroyed during the fighting in 1940. Elements of the choir and chapels of the former church were incorporated into the new church. The new church has a Latin cross floor plan.
