Dordives: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Dordives features two contrasting landscapes: the Prairie des étangs and the Sablière de Cercanceaux. Nature

The Prairie des étangs is open for fishing all year round. Its path is suitable for people with reduced mobility for the first kilometre and has been awarded the Tourisme & Handicap label. There is also a themed trail highlighting the historical, ecological and natural features of the area.

At the Sablière de Cercanceaux, a 5.5-kilometre path leads around the site. A birdwatching station offers the opportunity to observe numerous overwintering birds.

Cycling

The Scandibérique cycle route passes through Dordives and allows you to cycle along the Loing Canal.

Culture

The first structure of the Église Saint-Étienne de Dordives dates back to the 11th century. After the previous building was destroyed during the Hundred Years’ War, the church was rebuilt in the 15th century. Contemporary stained-glass windows from 1970 are located above the altar.

The Château de Mez-le-Maréchal was built by confidants of King Philip II Augustus, modelled on the Louvre. The château includes a square 13th-century curtain wall with four round towers and a gateway between two towers. Unlike the Louvre, the Château de Mez-le-Maréchal has preserved almost all of its medieval architecture.
