Bonnée: Holiday Apartments and Houses

Events

The Fête du Bois in Chappe focuses on traditional tools. At the Fête du Bois, visitors can observe the various stages of wood utilization, including tree cultivation, forestry, and wood processing. The program for the 2026 Fête du Bois included 150 exhibitors and competitions for lumberjacks.

Since 2015, the Fête de la Saint-Antoine has been celebrated again in January.

History and Architecture

The former ancient town of Bonnée included Gallo-Roman dwellings. The medieval church of the former ancient town of Bonnée was surrounded by burial sites. The Gallo-Roman settlement of Bonnée included a theater southwest of the present-day church; the settlement also included baths between the town and the river.

The Église Saint-Martin is a neo-Gothic church dating from 1865 and can be visited in the center of Bonnée. It is one of the few churches in the surrounding area that are still open to the public.

Hiking and Nature

The PR de la Saint-Antoine hiking trail is 6 km long and takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes. It passes the Fontaine Saint-Antoine. The PR de la Champagne hiking trail is 9 km long and takes about 2 hours and 15 minutes.

The PR de la Champagne hiking trail passes nearby bodies of water through a bird habitat where ospreys, among other species, can be found.

Until the 1950s, the Fontaine Saint-Antoine was a pilgrimage site; the pilgrimage took place every January 17. The Fontaine Saint-Antoine is dedicated to Saint Anthony and his pig.

Cycling

Weekend activities associated with Bonnée include cycling along the Loire on the La Loire à Vélo route.
