Girolles: Vacation Apartments and Holiday Homes
The Église Notre-Dame de l’Assomption dates from the 11th and 12th centuries and is considered a Romanesque church. The choir contains four carved capitals dating from the same period as the tympanum.
This carved tympanum depicts the mystical lamb. It is protected by a porch considered unique in the Gâtinais region. The church tower was used in the 18th century for the Chappe telegraph on the Paris–Lyon line. Girolles was also the birthplace of Jacques Lablond, a Huguenot and preacher of the Reformation.
