Boismorand is located in a wooded setting with ponds and on the edge of the Forêt domaniale d’Orléans. Between waterways and forests, the town offers an idyllic setting for picnics and relaxation. By car, Boismorand can be reached via the A77, the D940 and the D2007.
Culture and history
The Église Saint-Vrain is the Gothic church of Boismorand. Its surviving choir was completed on 3 September 1549. The choir is partly protected as a historic monument; the listing was made by order dated 12 January 1931.
A sundial dating from 1665, donated by the Danjou family, adorns a wall of the Église Saint-Vrain. The church is also home to the oldest bell in the Giennois region. It dates from 1669 and is named “Anne”.
The Château Cormont is privately owned; its origins are traced back to an ancient Gallo-Roman fortress.
Hiking
The Circuit du Petit Bois is an easy circular hiking trail. The route takes 1 hour and 30 minutes and is 5.9 kilometres long.
