Culture and history

In Baccon, the Tour Chappe is the only one of the 44 Chappe towers built in the region that can be visited. The Tour Chappe complex, with its exhibition room, forms a museum showcasing historical means of transmitting written communication. The Baccon Patrimoine association offers guided tours of the Tour Chappe on the first Sunday of each month from April to September.

The Church of Saint-Quentin was completely restored in 1887 and is representative of the religious architecture of the late 19th century. A local legend connects its location with the theft of sacred objects by François Villon.

The Château de la Touanne is a 17th-century building. The park of the Château de la Touanne can be visited on Sunday afternoons during the summer season; the chapel can also be discovered during the seasonal visit to the park.

Nature and trails

The Mauve de la Détourbe is one of the two main sources of the Mauves in Baccon. The “When the Mauves Meet La Petite Beauce” cycle route runs through Meung-sur-Loire, Huisseau-sur-Mauves and Baccon.

Baccon can be reached with Cars REMI from the bus stations in Orléans and Baule.
