At Lac de Rillé-Pincemaille, visitors can discover the lake’s wildlife and plant life. Today, the artificial lake is recognised for its ecological richness. Lac de Pincemaille is part of the Natura 2000 network; more than 200 bird species have been observed there.

Nature
The lake provides the scenic setting for various activities and routes in Rillé. The “Nature et sculpture – Boucle vélo n°25” cycling loop is 18 kilometres long. It starts on the shores of Lac de Rillé and runs along forest tracks and very small country roads. It is marked with green-and-white signs displaying the loop number.
Culture and History
The Église Saint-Loup incorporates architectural elements from the 11th, 12th and 16th centuries. The church houses two reliquaries containing relics of Saint Loup and Saint Urbain. The surviving fortifications of Rillé include 15th-century defensive walls and towers; the fortified gateway dates from the 13th century.
The Pierre Saint-Urbain, also known as the “Pierre pointue”, is a 1.25-metre-high triangular menhir. It is visible and accessible in open countryside on the border with the Maine-et-Loire département. Les Trois Chiens, a group of large stones, is considered evidence of Rillé’s prehistoric settlement. The Fontaine Saint-Loup feeds the municipal washhouse of Rillé below.
Railway
The approximately 3-kilometre-long route of the Train de Rillé runs along Lac de Rillé and through forests and woodland. The collection comprises four steam locomotives, ten diesel locomotives and around thirty historic passenger and goods carriages. The Train à vapeur de Rillé offers a 30-minute journey in an authentic historic train along the lake.
Activities
The Mini-golf aux oiseaux at Lac de Rillé is an educational 18-hole course focusing on the lake’s wildlife, designed by the CPIE in cooperation with the LPO. Rillé Wake Park offers wakeboarding on a water-ski lift accessible to beginners and experienced riders. Canoes, stand-up paddleboards and pedal boats are available for hire at Rillé Wake Park.
Le Baud'Rillé Parc aventure offers treetop courses and a zip line crossing the lake.
