Avoine: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Chinon nuclear power plant is located in Avoine, in the Indre-et-Loire département. The former spherical Chinon A1 reactor was converted into the Musée de l’Atome in 1986.

Culture

La Baronnière, an old residential building dating from the 16th century, stands at the southern entrance to Avoine. Near the Parc du centre is the Médiathèque du Véron, a 1,600 m² cultural centre open to everyone that regularly offers a wide range of events for all target groups.

The new Saint-Maurice Church was built in 1860 by the architect Gustave Guérin in the 18th-century neo-Gothic style.

Nature

The Puys du Chinonais, a group of hills containing limestone and sand that is open to the public, are located in the vicinity of Avoine. In the village of Le Pérou, a signposted discovery trail leads through the natural and cultural heritage of the Puys; access is via the RD 751.

The Avoine hiking trail leads from Lac Mousseau towards the forest of Beaumont-en-Véron.

The Château de Coulaine, Château du Petit-Thouars, Château de la Villaumaire and Château de la Roche are located in the vicinity of Avoine; all four are châteaux. Ile au Than Beach is also located near Avoine. The Château de Montsoreau-Museum of contemporary art Park is likewise situated in the area.
