Restigné – Vineyards, Grand Etang and History

Restigné represents a wine-growing landscape with clear proportions: 500 hectares of terraces and slopes are dedicated to viticulture, and almost 40 percent of the Bourgueil appellation is produced here.

Nature and Trails

At the Grand Etang, there is a fishing and picnic area with children's play equipment and a pétanque area. The 7.5-kilometre Circuit des Étangs circular trail starts there and follows a forest track alongside firebreaks. The Circuit des Manoirs circular trail leads through the vineyards of Restigné.

In the vicinity of Restigné, the La Loire à vélo routes are signposted in both directions. The specially developed and secured cycle paths are suitable for family-friendly exploration. Culture and History

The kiosk in Restigné marks the centre of the church square. The choir of Saint-Martin Church dates from the late 12th century and features architecture with Angevin influence.

A cylindrical tower made of brick and stone was used as a prison during the time of the Prévôté.

At Domaine de la Chevalerie, the experience in the tuffeau cellar includes a tasting of eight wines, each accompanied by one small bite. The experience also includes a cellar visit as well as food and wine pairings featuring regional products.

Domaine du Petit Bondieu offers a tour of the production cellar and a wine tasting. Domaine du Petit Bondieu also offers a complete tour of the estate followed by a tasting and a platter of carefully selected regional products.
