La Frette: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The stone church of La Frette, dedicated to Saint Paul, dates back to the 12th century. By decree of 7 August 1912, it was classified as a historic monument.

History

Ponce de Ténarre was buried in the church of La Frette in 1312. The historic buildings also include the Château, known as the “Chalet” and dating from 1890, as well as the school and town hall dating from 1865. La Frette’s former girls’ school dates from 1880.

In the immediate vicinity of La Frette, at the hamlet of Le Moley on the road to Huilly-sur-Seille, a stele commemorates the tragic fate of the brothers André and Paul Mathy. Both were executed without warning on 2 April 1944. La Frette is also the subject of a partial external departmental thematic survey of the traditional housing stock of the Bresse bourguignonne.

Nature

Two streams rise in La Frette and converge at the Moulin David. They powered its mill only in winter.
