The lavoir on Rue du Panetier was restored as part of an enhancement of Joncy’s cultural heritage.
Culture and history
The Château de Joncy dates back to the 13th century and was remodelled in the 18th century. In the cemetery, the Eglise Saint-Didier preserves a Gothic, rib-vaulted seigneurial chapel from the former Romanesque church dating from the 12th century.
Today’s Eglise Saint-Didier was inaugurated in 1887 and consecrated in 1889. Its chapel is listed in the supplementary inventory of historic monuments. A ramp was also installed at the church to facilitate access for people with reduced mobility.
Landscape
The Réserve du Château de Joncy is located on the Guye in Joncy. It is 700 m long and extends over 700 m.
A picnic area with benches, a table and containers for waste separation was set up near the Pont de Rains.
Local life
The Marché de Joncy takes place every Saturday morning. The market features organic vegetables, cooked poultry, prepared dishes, charcuterie, cheese and regional products.
