Selongey: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The church of Selongey has been classified as a historic monument since 20 July 1908. The bell tower of the Église Saint-Rémy contains a 48-bell carillon dating from the 14th century.

Culture and History

The Chapelle Sainte-Gertrude was built in 1530. It contains a statue of Saint Gertrude, recognizable by the mice climbing up her cloak. The chapel is located in Montagny, a quarter of a lieue from Selongey's town center.

The Chapelle Sainte-Anne in Selongey dates from 1637.

The Villa des Tuillières is a Gallo-Roman archaeological site with five buildings spread over an area of one and a half hectares. It was discovered in 1973 during an aerial survey. Its overall layout can still be clearly identified because its violent destruction by fire contributed to its preservation.

The Fêtes de Gallas in Selongey commemorate the attack on the town in 1638. The municipality of Selongey holds them every 50 years; the next event is scheduled for 2038.

Landscape

The area around Selongey is characterized by the hilly, wooded foothills of the “mountains” and the extensive grain fields of the Dijon plain.

Selongey is approximately five minutes from the A31 via the Til-Châtel interchange.
