Culture and history
A prominent landmark in the municipality is the Oratoire Notre-Dame de Bonne Espérance. It was built in 1854 and blessed on 9 September 1855 by Bishop Rivel of Dijon. The Oratoire also offers a privileged view of Pernand-Vergelesses, the wine-growing landscapes to the south and the roads winding towards the village entrance.
The parish church of Saint-Germain-d’Auxerre is a relatively well-preserved Romanesque building dating from the 12th century. It houses a rich collection of furnishings, most of which are protected as historic monuments. The Maison de Jacques Copeau et son jardin is also part of the village’s history: it is associated with the writer Jacques Copeau and was classified as a historic monument by decree of 6 November 1985.
Pernand-Vergelesses is also home to the «la Mère Fontaine» spring and historic washhouses. The historic lanes of Pernand-Vergelesses are part of the sightseeing experience in the village.
Paths and landscape
The Sentier des cabottes is an 8 km-long signposted trail. It begins at the car park on Place de la Gare.
The Tour de la Butte de Corton circular trail also begins in Pernand-Vergelesses. The route is approximately 6 km long and is classified as suitable for families. Signposts and yellow markings identify the circular trail on various surfaces, including walls, trees and the ground.
The Voie des Vignes runs through Pernand-Vergelesses. It follows paths as well as municipal and departmental roads.
