Clohars-Carnoët: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Clohars-Carnoët showcases its coastal landscape in a particularly direct way: the GR 34 coastal trail runs along the entire coast of Clohars-Carnoët. In addition, the town has three fully equipped and signposted hiking trails.

Hiking

Le Chemin des peintres is a walking tour marked with information boards and signposts. Its 19 stops provide information about the landscapes that inspired the artists who worked there. The Balade de Doëlan is an easy, 8 km-long walk starting from Clohars-Carnoët and takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Another special route is the “Sur les pas de Tal Coat” promenade. It can be completed independently year-round using an audio app and eight audio sequences.

Nature and water

Saint-Maurice is a site classified as a landscape for observing fauna and flora in an environment that combines sea and forest. The surf station at Kerou welcomes tourists and has facilities suitable for surfing.

Culture and history

At the Saint-Maurice site, visitors can explore independently or on guided tours. The historic buildings date back to the 13th century, and a permanent exhibition provides information about the life of Cistercian monks in the Middle Ages.

The Chapelle Sainte-Anne hosts the Pardon de la mer of Clohars-Carnoët every year. The Mur de Toul Striz is part of the local cultural heritage; among other activities, demonstrations of traditional seaweed gathering are organised to explain its significance.

Surroundings

In the immediate surroundings of Clohars-Carnoët are Plage du Kérou and Plage de Bellangenet, both beaches. The ruins of Abbaye Saint-Maurice de Carnoët are also located nearby.

In the area around Clohars-Carnoët are Chateau de Québlen, a château, Château de Kerbastic, a historic site, and Fort-Bloqué, a fort. In the wider regional area are Raguenes and Plage de Kerguélen, both beaches.
