Culture and history
The “Sur les traces de Jean-Baptiste Corot” art trail leads through the municipality and combines reproductions of his works with the places that inspired them. Jean-Baptiste Corot stayed in Mûr-de-Bretagne several times; the town’s landscapes and everyday scenes influenced his artistic work.
The Chapelle Sainte-Suzanne was built in the 16th century on the remains of a small castle belonging to the Rohan family. It is known for the decorative patterns of its wood panelling and its 18th-century paintings, and houses altarpieces from the 17th and 18th centuries. The Allée couverte de Coët Correc is also part of the area’s history; it was protected as a historic monument by decree of 8 November 1956.
