Moustéru: Holiday apartments and houses

At the Église Notre-Dame in Moustéru, the bell tower and west façade date from the 16th century, while the nave dates from the 18th century.

Culture and history

Outside, next to a south-facing window of the Église Notre-Dame, there is a holy water stoup. According to tradition, lepers stood there to follow the church services from outside. The bell tower was registered by decree on 7 December 1925.

The historic sites of Abbaye Saint-Croix, Peter II Castle and Abbaye de Begar are located near Moustéru. Further afield in the region are the ruins of Abbaye Notre-Dame de Coëtmaloën.

Paths and landscape

In Moustéru, the Circuit du Bongoat is an easy, yellow-marked hiking trail covering 8.3 kilometres. It starts at the car park by Moustéru town hall.

The Chemin du Buis is a path through the forest with an exceptionally high concentration of boxwood; it is considered a remnant of Roman settlement. The summit of Ménez Fanteu is also located near Moustéru.

Along the Allée d'ifs de Pedordel stand 90 yew trees planted in a geometric ship-shaped formation. They have been classified as “Remarkable Trees” since 2006.

Experiences

Ferme Ty Lipous offers a self-guided sensory trail where visitors can get to know numerous farm animals. It also offers guided tours during which visitors can learn about the production of its Ty-Lipous yoghurts.
