Culture and History

The Château de Kerivon in Buhulien is partially protected as a historic monument. It was rebuilt from 1724 by the Carcaradec family on the site of a medieval manor house that had already existed since the 13th century. The protected complex includes a park, a chapel, historic outbuildings, moats and ponds.

The Croix du 17e siècle was listed as a historic monument by decree dated 22 December 1927. Three protected heritage objects are recorded for the Église de Buhulien. The Fontaine Sainte-Marguerite in Buhulien dates from 1727.

In the immediate vicinity of Buhulien are Koad Freg Castle and Tonkedeg Castle, both castles. Tonquédec Castle, a historic site, is also located nearby. The Château de Rosanbo is a castle in the area around Buhulien.

Nature and Trails

At the Moulin de Buhulien, there is an access point to the Léguer in the fishing area of the AAPPMA du Léguer. The circular hiking trail from Buhulien to the banks of the Léguer reaches the river at Milin Kerginiou and starts and ends at the car park by Buhulien town hall.

The Plage de Trestraou, a beach, and three islands—Legonet, Île Tomé and Île du Bivic—are located in the area around Buhulien.
